Application for a Part B Permit

Local Authority Pollution Prevention and Control

Pollution Prevention and Control Act, 1999

Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 (as amended)

When to use this form

This regime is known as Local Authority Pollution Prevention and Control (LA-PPC). Installations permitted under this regime are known as Part B installations. Use this form if you are sending an application for a 'Part B' installation to a Local Authority under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2010 (as amended).

Before you start to fill in this form

You are strongly advised to read relevant part of the Defra general guidance manual issued for LA-IPPC and LAPPC, revised in 2012.
This contains a list of other documents you may need to refer to when you are preparing your application, and explains some of the technical terms used. You will also need to read the relevant sector guidance note, BREF note or Process Guidance note.

There are a number of other documents you may need to send us with your application. Each time a request for a document is made in the application form you will need to record a document reference number for the document or documents that you are submitting. Please also mark the documents(s) clearly with this reference number and the application number if you have been given one. If you do not have either of these please use the name of the installation.

It is usually sensible to talk to one of our environmental protection officers before you complete and submit the application.

Which parts of the form to fill in

You should fill in as much of this form as possible. The appropriate fee must be paid with the application to enable it to be processed further.
